Mr. Perkel began his leadership role from the time he was honorably discharged from the United States Army and NCO of the Year while serving in the Army reserves. Mr. Perkel built a successful HVAC company in the Princeton, New Jersey market and enjoyed a very solid reputation and continued his success until relocating to Texas in 1992. Throughout his years in Texas, Mr. Perkel focused on real estate investments resulting in owning and operating the largest indoor mini-mall in Austin, TX which continues to thrive after twenty-four years with approximately 100 tenants. In 2019, a second location was purchased in San Antonio, TX and became profitable after approximately 18 months in spite of setbacks from the Covid pandemic with an additional 100 tenants.
Mr. Perkel previously served as the Executive Vice President of RESOLUT RE, commercial real estate brokerage where his leadership skills helped build the company into more than $10 million per year in revenue. During his tenure, Mr. Perkel mentored junior brokers while still finishing the years as a top five producer and number one in 2021 once again, despite the pandemic. In December of 2021, Mr. Perkel became the CEO of Main Filter and remained in this position for the next two years while maintain a commercial brokerage presence. During his tenure, Mr. Perkel brought health insurance to the North Carolina facility that resulted in substantially higher retention. Mr. Perkel maintained his good relationship with the company following the sale to a larger manufacturer. Mr. Perkel continues to this day to oversee his multiple business interests.
Mr. Perkel has trained throughout his investment career in various leadership roles and attended the West Point Leadership academy at the University of Texas in Austin where he achieved a 4.0. While learning many valuable skills throughout this course and his career, the academy honed his understanding of generational differences which provides the ability to work with various backgrounds and experiences. When asked the most important lesson learned his answer is, "Leadership comes from the bottom up, not the top down." This lesson provides Mr. Perkel with a unique skill set to maximize individual skill sets and set aside personal opinions of the individual while maximizing output of the companies overall.
Joey Bernal is a dynamic business development and sales leader with over 27 years of proven success in the oil and gas industry, spanning upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors. His experience includes executive-level leadership as a Director of Operations where he oversaw cross-functional teams and implemented strategic processes that elevated performance, safety, and efficiency across the board. He is known for his relentless pursuit of new opportunities and his ability to open and grow markets, consistently securing major accounts with top-tier companies like BP, Shell, Chevron, Kinder Morgan, HESS, and Schlumberger.
Throughout his career, Joey has consistently demonstrated a unique talent for identifying client needs and delivering innovative, win-win solutions. From co-founding and managing Encompass Energy Solutions and Renegade Engineering International, to leading record-breaking sales performance in multiple service providing companies within the oil and gas arena, Joey has proven himself as both a builder of businesses and a trusted partner to clients.
Joey's leadership and business development expertise have not only driven multimillion-dollar growth across multiple companies but also left a lasting impact on clients and collaborators who commend his professionalism, creativity, results-driven mindset, client-centric service, and a reputation for doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Chris Mahoney has more than three decades of excellence in the energy industry, and is currently owner and managing director of Gamper Venture LP, which was established in 2003 and invests and operates a diverse portfolio including unique properties. Additionally, he has spent years providing community service. He spent over 10 years coaching youth sports at all levels and has spent years educating through teaching and mentoring at numerous institutions. As part of this effort Chris served as a Mentor and Chairman for the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) in Houston. He also continues to support entrepreneur programs at Junior Achievement (JA) as well as Houston based colleges.
Chris is a proud member, board Director, Vice Chair, and former President for the Born Global Community - an international organization with a mission to propel diverse entrepreneurs and investors with a global mindset.
Chris is passionate about helping individuals with the tools they need to succeed in business in the United States. This stems from his own experience immigrating from Europe and Canada as a child. His hard-working mother raised 4 sons while working multiple jobs. Chris met his wife Beverley in Canada where they both worked their way through university. Chris is a proud U.S. citizen with a passion for helping other immigrants succeed in the U.S.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Mahoney began his career working several corporate positions including business unit general manager, planning executive, and supply chain project executive in Toronto, Canada. After moving to the United States, he became the global industrial and wholesale fuels operations manager for ExxonMobil in 2005. He was promoted to the United States retail distributor manager in 2009, to the United States lubricant sales manager in 2012, America's lubricant director where he also served as ExxonMobil lubricants trading company president for a few years. He subsequently served as lubricants business unit director in North America and then moved to Singapore as Southeast Pacific director. Chris returned to the U.S. as planning executive. Over the course of his tenure with ExxonMobil, he held numerous executive level roles.
Before starting his professional journey, Mr. Mahoney earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in economics, both from the University of Calgary in Canada. Following these achievements, he attained a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toronto.
Looking to the future, Mr. Mahoney intends to continue to grow Gamper Ventures and also to continue to give back to the community through educating and assisting young entrepreneurs. A naturally competitive person, he strives to live by the philosophy of RISE: respect, integrity, sensitivity to diversity, people and stakeholders, and execution.

He has strong functional expertise in sales, marketing, finance and planning, with international business experience spanning North and South America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
After retiring from ExxonMobil in 2017, Brad founded The Merkel Group, a firm dedicated to helping entrepreneurs, senior executives, and advancing leaders to strengthen their personal impact and dramatically improve their business results.
Brad holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and Management from McMaster University, a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich Business School at York University, and is certified by the International Coaching Federation as a professional executive coach.
Brad currently serves as Chair of the Board of Governors at McMaster University in Canada, consistently ranked as one of the top 100 universities in the world.
